Veldrit is a game, not an advertising business. We keep what is needed to let your team race and to be able to email you, and nothing else. There is no tracker on this site, there is no analytics, and your details do not go to advertisers.
What we keep
Your name and your email address. You fill them in yourself when you start a team or join the waiting list. Your name is nowhere public: in the game you see team names and rider names, not people.
Your password, encrypted. We cannot read it — a forgotten password is therefore replaced rather than looked up.
What you do in the game: your team, your riders, your training, entries, results, transfers and your money. That is the game itself. Results and standings are public; they belong to a competition anybody can follow.
The language you signed up in, and the two letters your browser puts after it — nl-BE gives BE, en-GB gives GB, and a browser that says only en gives nothing. The language decides which language we write to you in. Those two letters tell us roughly where players are, so we know whether a course in that region should ever be added. It is a setting in your browser and not a location: we do not look at your IP address to work it out and nothing goes to anybody else.
Notifications on your device, if you turn them on. Then we keep the address your browser gives us to send a notification to that device, and a label like "Chrome on Android" so you can tell them apart. You turn them off on your profile, and that address disappears.
Feedback you send, if the feedback button is on: what you write, which page you were on, what your browser said in the console, and — if you leave that box ticked — an image of your screen at that moment. That image is yours; only an administrator looks at it and you can always untick the box before sending.
Your IP address ends up in the server logs when you sign in and when an administrator does something. That is there to recognise abuse, not to follow you, and it goes with the ordinary log rotation.
What we do not do
No advertising, no trackers, no analytics, no cookies that follow you across other sites. The only cookie this site sets is the one for your sign-in — without it you do not stay logged in.
We sell nothing on and we give nothing to third parties, apart from what is below.
Who else sees it
Postmark sends our email. They see your address and the mail itself, because that is what sending means.
Your browser maker — Google, Apple, Mozilla — delivers the notifications to your device, if you turned them on. That goes through their servers.
open-meteo.com gives us the weather over Belgium. Nothing about you goes there: we only ask what the weather did at a place on a day.
How long
As long as your team exists. If you delete your account, your name, your address and your notifications go. Results of races already ridden stay — standings that riders retroactively vanish from are not standings any more — but there is no longer a person behind them.
Feedback with a screenshot in it is the one thing we clear separately from that: ask, and it is gone.
What you can ask for
You can ask what we have about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You delete your account yourself on your profile; for the rest an email is enough.
Questions or complaints: hello@veldrit.be. If you cannot resolve it with us, you can go to the Belgian Data Protection Authority in Brussels.
