Veldrit is a free game. This page says what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. There are not many, and two of them are the game itself.
You play with one account. Not because we want to be strict, but because a second team that exists only to feed the first — moving riders across, letting an auction be won — makes everybody's standings worthless. That is why we ask you to confirm your email address, and why every transfer is public on the market with every bid on it.
If several of you play from one address, tell us. That is not a problem; doing it without saying so is.
There is nothing for sale that makes you race faster, and that will not change. If there is ever a paid tier it will be about statistics and history — about races already ridden — and never about how fast your riders go.
Racing every Sunday, whether we are there or not. Results that come from a single seed and can be recomputed, so a result can be checked rather than being whatever a server decided.
This is a hobby project and not a service with a guarantee. A day can be missed, something can break, and in the worst case the game could one day stop. If that happens we will say so in time — you will not find a closed door without notice.
Most riders in the game have no manager. Those are ridden by the game itself, and when a field gets too thin the organiser fills it up with riders invented for the afternoon. That is the field, not an opponent with a script — the difference from the rule below is who is at the controls.
We may change the rules of the game: prize money, wages, how fast a rider grows. That is part of a game still being balanced.
Choose a team name that will not alarm anybody. Offensive names, names of real teams and names that pass somebody off as someone else are removed.
No scripts or programs playing in your place, and nothing that takes the site down. The races are slow on purpose; there is nothing to win by being fast.
Anyone who ignores this can lose their team. We will say why.
Every rider in Veldrit is invented and every team is invented. If a name resembles somebody real, that is coincidence — tell us and it will be changed.
The courses sit at real Belgian places and the weather above them comes from open-meteo.com. The races themselves never happened.
